On 9 October 2019, we held our third rally outside the Scottish Parliament to mark the final stage of the Transport Bill.
We invited every MSP to come out and support passengers in their long fight for the right to publicly-owned buses and vote through Amendment 65, which would give every council in Scotland the powers to run and operate bus services. And we won!
The Transport Bill was passed on 10 October 2019.
It was given Royal Assent to become the Transport (Scotland) Act 2019 on 15 November 2019.
We’ll be continuing our campaign to ensure these new powers are used by our local Councils and SPT, and that the Scottish Government gives them adequate support to do so.
