On 24 October 2018, Get Glasgow Moving activists Ellie Harrison, Gavin Thomson and Brenda McKay attended the Rural Economy & Connectivity Committee’s Stakeholder Event for the Transport Bill.
We were able to contribute to the discussion on three occasions to highlight our concerns with the Transport Bill, outlined in our consultation response.
- its failure to address our poor transport governance structures and allow for revenue raising measures
- its failure to allow councils and Regional Transport Authorities to set-up and run publicly-owned bus companies
- its weak approach to delivering integrated smart ticketing
