In response to the cost-of-living crisis, we’re running a Fair Fares Now! campaign to put pressure on our regional transport authority, SPT, to use its new powers to regulate bus services and cut fares.
We want SPT to stand up to the private bus companies and help bring our fares back in line with other cities – a single in London is £1.65, in Edinburgh is £1.80 and in Glasgow it’s £2.65! As well as delivering a fully-integrated service across bus, train and Subway.
We are holding a Petition Hand-in & Passenger Rally outside SPT’s offices at 131 St Vincent Street on Friday 30 September, 9am to coincide with their next Board meeting.

We really need a big turn out. This is a crucial time to influence SPT as they are currently consulting on our new Regional Transport Strategy, which will decide the future of our region’s transport network until 2037.
