On Saturday 1 February, we hosted our second AGM at Unison Offices in Glasgow and elected Committee Members for the forthcoming year. After the Chair’s Report on campaign activities over the last year and other official business, we held a packed public meeting on public transport for 2020.
Our public meeting featured inspiring speeches by Pascale Robinson from Better Buses for Greater Manchester and Emily Yates from the Association of British Commuters who made the film ‘The Fight for Greater Manchester’s Buses‘.
Both shared their campaign tactics and made compelling arguments for re-regulating our buses using new powers granted to Regional Transport Authorities in the Bus Services Act 2017 (in England) and the Transport Act 2019 (in Scotland).
