Transport Scotland is running a public consultation on the future of the M8 motorway’s Woodside Viaducts, which cut right through the north west of our city centre and have been crumbling and propped up since 2021.
We’re joining forces with our friends at GoBike, Carfree Glasgow and Replace the M8 to launch a new Remove the M8 campaign to encourage our supporters to Choose Option 3: Remove… to improve the urban landscape instead.
The alternative is for Transport Scotland to waste up to ยฃ500 million repairing this ugly and outdated motorway infrastructure.
To address the climate emergency, boost our local economy and create a people-friendly city, this money must be invested to build a world-class public transport network instead.
We need everyone in our region to be able to travel around easily and affordably without needing to own a car.
