On 26 February 2020, Transport Scotland released their annual Transport Statistics for 2019. These showed a steep decline in bus journeys (10% in five years) everywhere in Scotland except Edinburgh, where people are served by publicly-owned Lothian Buses.
The following week, Get Glasgow Moving’s Chair Ellie Harrison was invited onto BBC Radio 4’s You & Yours to explain why lack of regulation over bus routes and fares is responsible for declining passenger numbers.
